Is there a dog heaven?

Must be. Otherwise, why Conan, a one and half year-old Chihuahua, is praying in a Japanese temple.

mar08_dogpraying.jpgAP reports that Conan prays daily with priest Joei Yoshikuni at the Zen Buddhist temple in the city of Naha, Japan. Mimicking the human priest, Conan sits up on his legs and puts his front paws in a gesture of devotion in front of the altar. Like his human counterpart, he does this on his own before his lunch and dinner. Conan learned the trick quickly and now fast becoming a tourist attraction. What is next? Joei is trying to teach him how to meditate. Joei says:

“Basically, I am just trying to get him to sit still while I meditate. It’s not like we can make him cross his legs.”

Cross legged or not, this cute canine is collecting lots of good karma.
