Why littering is dangerous for candy thieves?
Because candy wrappers can lead the police right to their doorsteps. Cincinnati police caught four suspects who broke into a candy store by just following the trail of candy wrappers they left behind.
Two teen girls, aged 18 and 19, and two men, aged 18 and 22, broke into a candy store in downtown Cincinnati and stole about $400 worth of candy. But on their way home they started littering and left a trail of candy wrappers. When police arrived, all they had to do was to follow the trail. With the help of wrappers, police quickly wrapped up the case. The four got arrested only a few blocks away and charged with breaking and entering. Christine Ruther, the 19 year old girl, brought her seven-week old daughter along while she broke in. She was also charged with endangering the safety of a child.
We hope the candy thieves get a taste of sweet justice.
