How does a puzzle addict propose to his girlfriend?(3)

By popping the question in a crossword puzzle, of course. Twenty six year old Alex Fay proposed to his twenty four year old girlfriend Lisa Stern using the clue “Question that pops up” for a crossword puzzle in USA TODAY.

apr08_puzzleproposal.jpgHe was looking for more than the obvious answer WILLYOUMARRYME. And he got it - Lisa said yes. Alex was planning for months to use their mutual passion for crosswords to pop the question. He finally crated his first ever crossword and sent to the editor. On April 10 the puzzle appeared, and Alex brought the puzzle to Lisa in the morning since he could not wait till night, their regular time to solve the puzzle. He also brought her favorite coffee along. As they worked on the puzzle, Lisa got a feeling that something was up. It took about 20 minutes for them to reach the clue in question, and as soon as Lisa solved it Alex got on his knee with a ring. Lisa was shocked in a good way and said yes.

The couple plans to marry next summer. We hope all those single men out there get a clue how to be romantic from this story.
