Can u haz yr dream job with thez rezumez?
Normally, not a chance in hell. But with the invention of SMS and Internet speak things have changed a bit. Correct spelling in job application is not required for Lilcat website. On the contrary, you may have a better chance if your resume is full of Lolspeak.
If you are still scratching your head about Lolcat and Lolspeak, then you are one of the few who missed the last year’s Internet craze about the kitty photo blog on Wordpress.com called I Can Has Cheezburger. It consistently featured on top list until this year’s craze Stuff White People Like came along. The Lolcat site typically would feature a picture of a cat with a caption in Lolspeak: an adult trying to be funny by mimicking a below average second grader spelling skill with an immature first grader sense of humor. But it seems that is what people love. Now Lolcat has a job opening and 250 people applied for it. The owner of the site cannot go over all the applications, but the filtering has nothing to do with spelling. In fact bad spelling may be a sign of hidden sense of humor that seems to be crucial for the success of such sites. The job itself was posted under the heading Kittehs Want Moar Workerhumans.
The job requires one to sort though over 9,000 daily submissions. Love for cat is not essential.
