Is religion different for rich and famous?(0)

Of course it is. It has been this way through out history, from the time church was formed, from the day Jesus died, then why not now. The case in point is the Saturday Mass celebrated by Pope Benedict. Of all people, the twice divorced pro-abortion major of NY Rudy Giuliani took communion at the same Mass.

apr08_rudymass.jpgWhat happened to the no divorce rule? What about the faith in the sanctity of life? Only last year, Pope Benedict himself reaffirmed that divorced Catholics cannot receive Communion unless they never have sexual relations with the new partner. Rudy was there with his third wife — not second, but third. When asked how he felt about breaking the rules to take Communion, Rudy said he saw nothing wrong with it. Not to mention his support for abortion. Though he did not take the Communion from Pope himself, he took it during the same Mass.

But he was not alone. Last Thursday, when Pope Benedict XVI celebrated the Eucharistic liturgy in Washington, pro-choice liberals such as Nancy Pelosi and John Kerry also took communion.

I guess the rules only apply to mere mortals like average church going Catholics. Rich and famous just have to show up when Pope is in town. They have a different set of rules to follow.

Were the repeated abortions by Yale student just a joke?(1)

It seems so. Aliza Shvarts, who previously reported to have impregnated herself repeatedly through artificial insemination and induced miscarriages by herbal drugs, did no such thing. It was just a performance art project to get attention and generate controversy surrounding the sensitive topic of abortion.

apr08_yalestudent.jpgAliza claims that her story is real and she planed to make an art display with plastic sheet stained with her blood where she would show video of her getting abortion in a bathtub. But Yale says that is an elaborate lie and she was never pregnant. “The entire project is an art piece, a creative fiction designed to draw attention to the ambiguity surrounding form and function of a woman’s body.” She did all these just to create a debate since abortion is such a hot button issue. It is not clear if she was motivated to do her art project by the movie titled Shape of Things. In that situation it would be real life imitating art. And the shame is that even as an art project her idea is not too original.

People from both sides of the abortion debate are outraged by her work, and described her effort as misguided and callous.

Will abortion vanish, if we banish it from search engine?(0)
